T.K.H. Design and the Courtclean

The idea for the Courtclean goes back some 35+ years.  I can remember while playing high school basketball, the first thing I would do when I went on to the floor was shuffle my feet to see how slippery it was.  Very seldom was the floor not sandy or slippery.

In 1992 my son was a sophomore player on the Orange, CA High School Basketball team.  I noticed that nothing had changed in the last 30 some years.  They were still wrapping wet towels around dust mops and pushing them up and down the floor taking 30 or more minutes to finish the job.  So naturally, it was not being done very often and the floors were just as slippery as I had remembered.

It was at this time, I had the idea to solve this problem.  I made the first Courtclean with the sole intention of improving the conditions and the quality of their program.  In addition to making the floors squeaky clean for games, Courtclean was far more useful as a daily floor maintenance tool.

Before practice would start, while the players were stretching, one player could easily wet mop the floor in less than 5 minutes and practice could start immediately.  Now all of the change of direction, the quickness, and the lateral movement drills could be  done.  Also, the chance of injuries caused by slippery floors was greatly decreased.

It did not take long before all the coaches in the Century League were saying, "Make me one!"  It was apparent that we had something special.  I suggested to my son's coach, Richard Bossenmeyer, that our booster club could make Courtcleans and we could use the proceeds to help the boys basketball program.  For the next 3 years the Courtclean helped to provide an income source that was so greatly needed in this time of economic cutbacks.

In 1994, after my sons graduation, I felt that this product was too valuable to just let fade away.  T.K.H. Design Company was established to manufacture, distribute, and market the Courtclean.

We now sell Courtcleans all over the world and are pleased to offer to you via the Internet, a quick and easy way to order our  products.  It was never my intention to make a business from Courtclean, only to solve a problem.  You, the public, made the decision for me.  Thank you so much.  And, as so many people have said, "Every gym in America needs a Courtclean."
